Using a theoretical framework based in Aquinas's development of Aristotle's insights, our project centers on four focused, multidisciplinary, multi-generational working-group meetings of a team of international, mutually invested scholars.
The two annual meetings (Columbia and Chicago) will be immersive experiences aimed at generating systematic and integrated knowledge, including a new construct for empirical research on self-transcendence, new instruments of assessment, and new data.
- The cross-disciplinary network will enable researches to develop work in different fields informed by the insights provided by other members of their working groups.
- In addition to publishing the work shaped through the working group discussions, the scholars working on the grant will share their research on the project’s website in blog posts, podcasts, videos, and live webcasts.
These meetings are closed to the public.
December 11 (arrival) - 16, 2016 - Columbia, South Carolina
